History
The Alpha natural medicine range is manufactured by Allied Drug company and is our oldest brand. Founded in 1964 , it is an independent entity and operates from a 3000 m2 premises in Durban, KZN South Africa. With a SAHPRA Medical Device license and ISO13485 certification, it continues to deliver trusted, high-quality range and much used products that can be found in most retail health outlets today.
In 2015 the AOB surgical range was launched in South Africa. This range has continued to grow and evolve to meet customer requirements. Presenting well on shelf, surgical items from this trusted range can be found in over 700 independent pharmacies throughout the country today. Two years later, in 2017, the AOB vitamin range was brought to market. Initially catering to a very core range of needs, the range now comprises close to 40 well-known specific vitamins, minerals and effervescent tablets.
2022 marked the entry into the skin care and optical markets for AOB. The launch of 3 specific skin care support products, all high in collagen and other natural substances, has been well received and we continue to see strong growth and demand in this segment of the market. The AOB reading glasses, computer readers and related accessories which are housed on super functional custom-built stands, can also be found in over 300 leading pharmacies.
Finally in 2025, AOB has linked up with 3 strong partnership brands being Ugen Wellness, Ozura and Nutricon.
